Kayak
Among the many ways of travelling across the sea, there is the highly unrecommended means of a kayak, it a short boat which is another form of a canoe, with the waves and movement of the water I would be very suprised if you were able to survive a crossing in a kayak.
You would have no room for snacks or drinks (even though you have water all around you), and in terms of keeping warm you would have to completely wrap up, but that would hinder the flow of your movement while you were using the paddle to butter the water.
